Amy Cabot was one of the artists who formed the Ogunquit Art Association in 1928, and who composed a strong artistic community that lasted into the 1940s.

As a maiden lady, she was part of group local people dubbed "The Virginal Wayfarers," because they sported "long skirts, high collared blouses and wide-brimmed straw hats. They often gathered for tea and painted together along an ocean walk called "The Marginal Way."
